1. I am dwelling on the mountain, Where the golden sunlight gleams O’er a land whose wondrous beauty Far exceeds my fondest dreams Where the air is pure, ethereal, Laden with the breath of flow’rs, They are blooming by the fountain, ‘Neath the amaranthine bow’rs.
Chorus:
Is not this the land of Beulah? Blessed, blessed land of light, Where the flowers bloom forever, And the sun is always bright!
2. I can see far down the mountain, Where I wandered weary years, Often hindered in my journey By the ghosts of doubts and fears; Broken vows and disappointments Thickly sprinkled all the way, But the Spirit led, unerring, To the land I hold today.
Is not this the land of Beulah? Blessed, blessed land of light, Where the flowers bloom forever, And the sun is always bright!
3. I am drinking at the fountain, Where I ever would abide; For I’ve tasted life’s pure river, And my soul is satisfied; There’s no thirsting for life’s pleasures, Nor adorning, rich and gay, For I’ve found a richer treasure, One that fadeth not away.
Is not this the land of Beulah? Blessed, blessed land of light, Where the flowers bloom forever, And the sun is always bright!
4. Tell me not of heavy crosses, Nor of burdens hard to bear, For I’ve found this great salvation Makes each burden light appear; And I love to follow Jesus, Gladly counting all but dross, Worldly honors all forsaking For the glory of the cross.
Is not this the land of Beulah? Blessed, blessed land of light, Where the flowers bloom forever, And the sun is always bright!
5. Oh, the cross has wondrous glory! Oft I’ve proved this to be true; When I’m in the way so narrow, I can see a pathway through; And how sweetly Jesus whispers: “Take the cross, thou need’st not fear, For I’ve tried the way before thee, “ And the glory lingers near
Is not this the land of Beulah? Blessed, blessed land of light, Where the flowers bloom forever, And the sun is always bright!
Beulah is found in Isaiah 62:4
“Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married:
Beulah is mentioned in the Pilgrim’s Progress as
“Now I saw in my dream, that by this time the Pilgrims were got over the Enchanted Ground, and entering into the country of Beulah, whose air was very sweet and pleasant, the way lying directly through it, they solaced themselves there for a season. Yea, here they heard continually the singing of birds, and saw every day the flowers appear on the earth, and heard the voice of the turtle (dove) in the land. In this country the sun shines night and day; wherefore this was beyond the Valley of the Shadow of Death, and also out of the reach of Giant Despair, neither could they from this place so much as see Doubting Castle. Here they were within sight of the city they were going to, also here met them some of the inhabitants thereof; for in this land the Shining Ones commonly walked, because it was upon the borders of heaven. In this land also, the contract between the bride and the bridegroom was renewed; yea, here, “As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so did their God rejoice over them.” Here they had no want of corn and wine; for in this place they met with abundance of what they had sought for in all their pilgrimage. Here they heard voices from out of the city, loud voices, saying, “‘Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh! Behold, his reward is with him!’ Here all the inhabitants of the country called them, ‘The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord, Sought out'”, etc.
Now as they walked in this land, they had more rejoicing than in parts more remote from the kingdom to which they were bound; and drawing near to the city, they had yet a more perfect view thereof. It was built of pearls and precious stones, also the street thereof was paved with gold; so that by reason of the natural glory of the city, and the reflection of the sunbeams upon it, Christian with desire fell sick; Hopeful also had a fit or two of the same disease. Wherefore, here they lay by it a while, crying out, because of their pangs, If you find my beloved, tell him that I am sick of love.”
And here is the exposition
Sitting on the Hill Top of Penang in the morning we sang
I am dwelling on the mountain.
Mountain speaks of nearness to heaven with its sun shine & pure air.
When angels told Lot to leave Sodom “he was to escape to the mountain” (Gen. 19:17)
The Christian Life should progress towards the mountain of fellowship with Christ on high.
Jesus often go up to the mountain to pray. The Sermon on the Mount was given on the mountain
And the Transfiguration happened on a very high mountain
Ruth Paxson mentioned “LIFE ON THE HIGHEST PLANE” in her book which depicts Christian living in Victory
And this is the state of living in Beulah land
As the Author exclaimed
“IS NOT THIS THE LAND OF BEULAH?
OR IS NOT THIS THE BLESSED STATE OF BLISS IN VICTORIOUS FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
Is not this the land of Beulah? Blessed, blessed land of light, Where the flowers bloom forever, And the sun is always bright!
In this state there is mountain top fellowship with Christ. Where there are singing of birds and sunshine and flowers
Stanza Two
A depiction of those weary years of wandering far down the mountain away in the world beset by the ghosts of doubts, fears, broken vows & disappointments.
These are sprinkled thickly all along the way and often hindered us in our pilgrim journey.
We would have been turned away out of the Christian Faith if not for the unerring leading of the Holy Spirit who made all the difference
Notice the word “BUT”
“But” the Spirit led unerring!
Yes! BUT GOD in Eph. 2
See again
Eph. 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
STANZA THREE
3. I am drinking at the Fountain of Life. Where there is true and complete satisfaction.
As Augustine said, “Our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee”
Having found Christ we are fully satisfied as we abide in pure fellowship with Him
And no more thirsting for other earthly pleasure which is fleeting. When the inward soul is satiated with the Fullness of God the outward desire of adornment now has lost its hold on the Christian now and for ever.
Stanza 4
Neither tell me of heavy crosses nor of burdens hard to bear.
Why?
Answer: “FOR I’VE FOUND THIS GREAT SALVATION!
Every burden is too light in the light of HIS GREAT SALVATION!
Make each burden light appear.
Because “WE LOVE TO FOLLOW JESUS”
Gladly counting all as dross.
Every worldly honor forsaking for a higher honor and glory of the cross!
Stanza 5
O THE CROSS!
THE CROSS HAS WONDROUS GLORY!
Jesus said, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, land take up his cross daily, and follow me”
To every one who wants to follow Jesus let him DENY HIMSELF, TAKE UP HIS CROSS
AND TAKE IT UP DAILY (DAY BY DAY), AND FOLLOW JESUS
Though the path may be narrow. God will make a pathway through
Because Jesus HAS TAKEN UP HIS CROSS and bade us sweetly to follow IN HIS STEPS.
AND THE CROSS LEADS TO GLORY! WONDROUS, GLORIOUS FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
IS NOT THIS THE LAND OF BEULAH?
BLESSED! BLESSED FELLOWSHIP WITH CHRIST IN HEAVENLY PLACES

According to Dr Peter Ng (this was one of the MOST BLESSED TIME OF PRAYER INDEED!
One of the most blessed hymn loved by many is “HE HIDETH MY SOUL” By Fanny Crosby
And today we will take a look
Fanny Crosby (extracted from Wikipedia)
Frances Jane van Alstyne (née Crosby; March 24, 1820 – February 12, 1915), more commonly known as Fanny J. Crosby, was an American mission worker, poet, lyricist, and composer. She was a prolific hymnist, writing more than 8,000 hymns and gospel songs,[a] with more than 100 million copies printed.[1] She is also known for her teaching and her rescue mission work. By the end of the 19th century, she was a household name.[2]
Crosby was known as the “Queen of Gospel Song Writers”[3] and as the “Mother of modern congregational singing in America”,[4] with most American hymnals containing her work.[5] Her gospel songs were “paradigmatic of all revival music”,[6] and Ira Sankey attributed the success of the Moody and Sankey evangelical campaigns largely to Crosby’s hymns.[7] Some of Crosby’s best-known songs include “Pass Me Not, O Gentle Saviour“, “Blessed Assurance“, “Jesus Is Tenderly Calling You Home”, “Praise Him, Praise Him”, “Rescue the Perishing”, and “To God Be the Glory“. Some publishers were hesitant to have so many hymns by one person in their hymnals, so Crosby used nearly 200 different pseudonyms during her career.[8][b]
At six weeks old, Crosby caught a cold and developed inflammation of the eyes. Mustard poultices were applied to treat the discharges.[23] According to Crosby, this procedure damaged her optic nerves and blinded her, but modern physicians think that her blindness was more likely congenital and, given her age, may simply not have been noticed by her parents.[24][25]
At age eight, Crosby wrote her first poem which described her condition.[29] She later stated: “It seemed intended by the blessed providence of God that I should be blind all my life, and I thank him for the dispensation. If perfect earthly sight were offered me tomorrow I would not accept it. I might not have sung hymns to the praise of God if I had been distracted by the beautiful and interesting things about me.”[30] She also once said, “when I get to heaven, the first face that shall ever gladden my sight will be that of my Savior”.
Read again her words,
“when I get to heaven, the first face that shall ever gladden my sight will be that of my Savior”.
What a blessed Woman of God! (Calvin)
Crosby set a goal of winning a million people to Christ through her hymns, and whenever she wrote a hymn she prayed it would bring women and men to Christ, and kept careful records of those reported to have been saved through her hymns.[200]
What a prayer! Asking God for one million souls saved through her hymns
It was John Sung who asked God for 100,000 souls during his evangelistic campaign. But this godly woman of God has a larger faith
Now let us go into her Hymn
HE HIDETH MY SOUL
1 A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
a wonderful Savior to me.
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
where rivers of pleasure I see.
Refrain:
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock
that shadows a dry, thirsty land.
He hideth my life in the depths of his love,
and covers me there with his hand,
and covers me there with his hand.
2 A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord;
he taketh my burden away.
He holdeth me up, and I shall not be moved;
he giveth me strength as my day. [Refrain]
3 With numberless blessings each moment he crowns,
and filled with his fullness divine,
I sing in my rapture,“Oh, glory to God
for such a Redeemer as mine!” [Refrain]
4 When clothed in his brightness, transported I rise
to meet him in clouds of the sky,
his perfect salvation, his wonderful love,
I’ll shout with the millions on high. [Refrain]
Stanza One is A Statement
1 A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
a wonderful Savior to me.
A testimony that Jesus is a Wonderful Saviour
And this was what Jesus did
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
where rivers of pleasure I see.
Text taken from Exodus 33:22
22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
Moses experienced the Glorious Presence of God
“In Thy Presence is fullness of joy. At Thy right hand there are pleasures for ever more”
The Chorus or refrain
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock
that shadows a dry, thirsty land.
He hideth my life in the depths of his love,
and covers me there with his hand,
and covers me there with his hand.
The land where Moses traveled through was a very hot and dry land. And word pictured like “cleft of the Rock with its protective shadows that shade Moses from the hot blazing sun is a refuge indeed.
This world that we now live in is full of distress: drought, inflation, bank failures, rumours of wars and full of dangers from earthquakes, tsunami & tornadoes
Thank God! He is the same refuge where we can hide
God promised to cover and protect us with his hand.
Stanza Two
What Wonderful things Jesus has done and is still doing
a) he taketh my burden away.
Jesus takes away our burden of life. Let us cast all our cares & burdens on Jesus by prayer
b) He holdeth me up, and I shall not be moved;
He sustains us. By Jesus’ intercession we stand
c) he giveth me strength as my day. [Refrain]
He gives us strength day by day all through our lives
In fact he is with us everyday & every moment of our life
Stanza Three
3 With numberless blessings each moment he crowns,
and filled with his fullness divine,
Each and every moment He crowns us with numberless blessings!
So much overflowing blessings that move us to sing!
I sing in my rapture,“Oh, glory to God
for such a Redeemer as mine!” [Refrain]
Not only sing (present tense)
In coming glorious future (future tense)
We will shout!
4 When clothed in his brightness, transported I rise
to meet him in clouds of the sky,
his perfect salvation, his wonderful love,
I’ll shout with the millions on high. [Refrain]
Sometime back we received a whataspp call from Pastor John Khng about a brother wanting to keep in contact
And it was indeed a great happy surprise!
Brother Peter Lai whataspped
And we quote,
“Hi Brother Eng Yee,
Greetings to you in the Lord.
This is Bro. Peter Lai.
I got yr # through John Khng. Heard u r in SGP.
Thanks for the JSM archived articles.
You did them very well.
Hope to catch up with you over coffee.”
And our happy reply to Bro. Peter Lai
Praise the Good Lord Brother Peter Lai
I remember joining the Wed Night Prayer of PK JSM (circa 1975)
where we had our prayer meetings
Brother Matthew Yong, Andrew Seet, Peter Yeo and Peter Lai were present.
I still remember those child like innocent prayers of yours and brother Peter Yeo
I sometimes laughed at those childlike sincere prayers (of course laugh quietly)
Now looking back God has worked in all of you and every one gone to serve God as Pastors and Missionary
Amen
Both Brother Matthew Yong & Andrew Seet became Pastors in JSM in later years
While Peter Lai has gone into Missionary Work and Brother Peter Yeo has gone to serve in the BP Church
And these were some testimonies from Brother Peter Lai after more than 48 years since
We quote from Bro Peter Lai,
“Well Brother, since you asked me. Ok very briefly
Served Army, got degree from US.
Commissioned as Officer. Sent to Israel for training. Govt scholarship for NUS MSc.
Went six times to US for ThM to fulfill my full time calling.
Missionary pastor sent out by US for Thailand, Indonesia, SGP.
Back SGP to care for my mom two yrs, here God gave me a secular director job. Bible Seminary thro
US Extension went full swing.
Students are Pastors, leaders fr many countries.
Awarded ThD, and teaching professor.
Brother, take these as prayer support for me.”
Blessings”
What a surprise indeed.
The last became first. There is none more timid child like person I know has become a Doctor of Theology & Missionary
Indeed the grace of Almighty God
Now Dr. Peter Lai asked us if we made any money in this www.inspiretopray.com website
We told him, “No!”
We do not accept any payment as our labour is Free of Charge for the Good Lord’s Kingdom
And below is a photo of Dr Peter Lai
And we called Pastor Peter Yeo of Bp Church
Another very sincere Childlike Soul
See Pastor Peter Photo below
Peter Yeo is pastor of Abundant Life Bible-Presbyterian Church in Singapore.
It brings me back 48 years ago in 1975 to those happy memories
SOM was using PK Jsm upstair then
On every Wednesday Evening we used to have prayer for 2 hours from 8pm to 10pm
I happily slipped downstairs to join those JSMers in prayer
And how blessed were those times of prayer
Heaven came down and we were all blessed.
Out of a congregation of about 100 people a good numbers turned up for prayers
These were the ones who excelled
And we quote
Daniel was said to have
” Forasmuch as an excellent spirit,” Daniel 5:12a
To excel implies “a going beyond” “doing more than usual“, “to exceed doing what is required”
They could have lived an ordinary Christian life by praying at home but they chose to come to the Weekly Wed Night Prayer Meeting” & some even joined the SOMers in Friday Overnight Prayer
Amen! & Amen!
All Glory & Praise to Jesus Christ our Supreme Prayer Intercessor

Comments Off on REMEMBERING THE PRAYING BROTHERS OF YEAR 1975 IN PK JSM
Our hearts glowed with the thoughts of God’s precious promises. That Jesus Christ has promised to return again the second time to rapture His saints & bring them all away to heaven
Our text in this message is Hebrews 11:22
King James Bible
By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
Amplified Bible
By faith Joseph, when he was dying, referred to [the promise of God for] the exodus of the sons of Israel [from Egypt], and gave instructions concerning [the burial of] his bones [in the land of the promise].
All things in Old Testament points to Jesus Christ
And the Life of Joseph resembles Jesus Christ in many points
Joseph was the favourite of Jacob and Jesus is the Only Beloved Begotten Son of God
Joseph was sold by his brothers for 20 pieces of silver into slavery. Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver
Joseph descended from Canaan into Egypt while Jesus descended from heaven to earth
In Egypt Joseph became a slave in Potiphar house. Jesus took the form of man and made Himself servant of all
Joseph was tempted by Potiphar’s wife. Jesus was tempted by Satan for 40 days in the desert
Joseph went from slavery to prison while Jesus went into prison and then to crucifixion
Joseph was highly exalted by Pharaoh while Jesus is exalted far far above all principalities & powers
Pharaoh told every one to bow the knee to Joseph while all in Heaven, on earth & under the sea will one day bow the knee to Jesus Christ being LORD OF LORDS & KING OF KINGS
In Egypt Joseph was given a wife called Asenath. Jesus is given The Church the Bride of Christ
Joseph revealed himself to his brothers and they got a shock and then cried. Jesus will one day reveal Himself to the Nation of Israel as the Messiah they Crucified. It will be a great shock and a time of great crying in Israel
Joseph saved his world from famine. Jesus comes to save our souls & bodies and give us eternal life
At his death Joseph made mention of the exodus… Israel will leave Egypt for Canaan & told concerning his bones to be carried off from Egypt to Canaan
This was an act of faith
King James Bible
By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
WHAT A WONDERFUL SAVIOUR IS JESUS CHRIST
See His Promise
14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST IS THE OFT REPEATED THEME OF THE ENTIRE NEW TESTAMENT
Out of every 25th Verse One Verse tells of Jesus Christ second coming again to earth
The final words of Jesus are these
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
AMEN! SO COME LORD JESUS!
Now Joseph died and was embalmed
Not Jesus. It was on a Sunday when they came with Spices to embalm the body of Jesus but HE IS RISEN FROM THE DEAD!
Joseph has 4 changes of clothes
The Clothes of many colors his father gave him
The clothes Potiphar’s wife took from him when he fled
The Prisoner’s cothes he wore
The Clothes which Pharaoh adorned him
Until today Joseph’s earth remains await the Coming of the Messiah
For Jesus
He was wrapped in swaddling clothes as a baby
Clothes he wore as a carpenter
Purple robe which soldiers adorned and mocked him
The clothes or napkins in which he was wrapped and buried
Comments Off on BY FAITH JOSEPH SPOKE OF THE EXODUS FROM EGYPT (Hebrews 11:22) & JESUS SPOKE OF THE DEPARTURE OR RAPTURE OF SAINTS FROM PLANT EARTH AT HIS 2ND COMING AGAIN
The entire Bible points to Christ. And Joseph’s 4 changes of garments depict Christ’s Garments
Joseph’s Multi colored garment given by his father Jacob
King James Bible (Genesis 37:3)
Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.
This was taken away by his jealous brothers when they sold him to be a slave in Egypt
2. The garment that Pothipar’s wife took from him (Gen. 39)
12 And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.
13 And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth,
Joseph was falsely accused and sent to prison
20 And Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.
21 But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.
23 The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the Lord was with him, and that which he did, the Lord made it to prosper.
“Our fathers chained in prison dark. Yet in heart & conscience free”
3. The garment that the jailer gave Joseph in prison
This was taken away and changed when Pharaoh called for Joseph
14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.
4. The garment that Pharaoh gave Joseph
42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;
43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.
44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.
Joseph well favoured by his father was betrayed and sold as a slave to Egypt
He descended down to Egypt to be a slave. And then as a slave he descended lower into prison. And from slavery & prisoner God exalted him to be the Prime Minister
From Prison to Palace after 4 changes of life with 4 changes of clothing
MY LORD HAS GARMENTS SO WONDROUS FINE
In Swaddling Clothes when God took the form of man and born as a baby
Luke 2:7 King James Version (KJV)
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
God took the form of man to let man bind him in swaddling clothes
From eternity to time; from Omnipotent to helplessness; from glory of heaven to a lowly manger. “God so loved the world…He gave His only begotten Son”
Where was Jesus born? Not in the best Mansion or Palace on earth but a manger worthy of animals. That was how earth received him
“He came unto his own and His own received him not. But to as many who received Him He gave them power to be sons [and daughters] of God
2. The Carpenter’s Garment when he worked with his hands as a man
King James Bible (Matthew 13:55)
Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
But the Garment is a conduit of His Power to Heal (Matthew 9)
20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be ofgood comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
Today the Bible is the power of God to touch Jesus through His Righteousness which is the Garment that heals
3. The Purple Robe which the Soldiers used to mock Jesus
John 19:
2And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, 3And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands. 4Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him. 5Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!
Jesus, the Sinless Son of God which became the Son of Man was crucified & died for our sins with his earthly clothes taken away at the Cross when soldiers cast lots for it
Matthew 27:35 King James Version (KJV)
And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
4. The Linen clothes which Jesus was wrapped with in His 3 days’ death, burial & then Resurrection!
44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
48 And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.
49 And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.
50 And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:
51 (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.
52 This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
UP FROM THE GRAVE HE AROSE!!!
And the Empty Tomb & The Linin Clothes were a Testimony of His Resurrection!
Luke 24:
24 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8 And they remembered his words,
9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
10 It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
12 Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

Now look again at the 1st mention of clothes or coverings, or garments, or coats of sin
Amplified Bible
The LORD God made tunics of [animal] skins for Adam and his wife and clothed them.
There is a special spiritual meaning behind every act or deed God is doing in the Bible
And the first time anything is mentioned in the Bible it is the “KEY” To Unlock Its meaning later
A.W. Pink called it “THE LAW OF THE FIRST MENTION”
Scrioture reveals certain nrincinles needed for the proper and faithful internretation of that book . ..£. .a ..a. ~ .J..
These principles have to be recognized as Bible students seek to properly understand the Word.
One of these principles is caned nthe law of first …mention”. It’s a principle that has received hardly any
attention in books written on hermeneutics, and one can only come to the conclusion that this
principle has falien into disuse~
What is this “Law of First …Mention” or “First …Occurrence Principle”?
The “law of first-mention” is the principle in the interpretation of Scripturewhich states that the first
mention or occurrence of a subject in Scripture establishes an unchangeable pattern, with that subject
remaining unchanged in the mind of God throughout Scripture.
Down through the years this important principle has been recognized by able commentators of the
Bible~
..4. 1: jJierson caned it “the Divine Law of Firsts.”
Benjarnin rllillis IVe)jJton (Brethren movement, 19th century), wrote about this principle:
If/find in Scripture a principle of interpretation. which I believe ..ifconscientiously
adopted, wil! serve as an unfailtng guide as to the mind of~God as contained therein.
TI,e first 11tetllion of a thing, the ve,:vfirst H’ords ofany subject ofwhich the Holy Spirit
is going IV treat, is the keystone of the wltole matter. ‘f
Arthur Pink wrote in his book “Interpretation of the Scriptures”:
The law of first-mention. Very frequently this is of great help in arriving at the meaning
of a word or expression. Since there be but one Speaker throughout the entire Word, and
He knew from the beginning al) that He was going to say, He has so ordered His
utterances as to forecast. from the outset whatever was to follow ~Thus, by noting its
setting and associations, the initial occurrence of anything in the Scriptures usually
intimates to us how it subsequently ~lin be employed. In other words, the earliest
pronouncement of the Holy Spirit on a subject very frequently indicates, substantially’J
what is found in the later references thereto. This is of real assistance to the exoositor,
.t ‘
supplying him with a kind of key to what follows. So far as we are aware, attention was
originally directed to this canon of exegesis by Lord Bacon ( 1600) , and for more than
forty years this writer has made use of the same, putting it to the test in sc.ores of
instances; and while he has found a few cases where the first mention of a term failed to
intimate clearly its future scope, he has never met with one that was out of harmony
therewith; and the vast majority of them were invaluable in serving to define their
significance and scope ..This will appear from the illustrations which follow.
The first prophecy recorded in Scripture supplies the key to the whole subject of
Messianic prediction, furnishing a remarkable outline and forecast of all that was to
follow ..Said the Lord God to the serpent, I1A..Ild I will put enmity between thee and the
woman, •• and- between –
thyd. seed and her- seed: – ‘” it- shall bruise.
thv+I_Y’ head ..and thou shalt bruise
his heel” ( Gen~ 3: 15) .
First, it is to he noted that those \vords were not addressed to Adam and Eve, implying
that man was not the immediate party in the covenant of recovery; that it depended not
upon anything of, by, or from him,
Second, that this Divine pronouncement was made after the fall, and from this point
onvvards prophecy is always consequent upon human failure, not coming in during the
normal state of affairs, but only when ruin has begun and judgment is impending — the
next oronhecv was throuzh Enoch (Jude 14.. 15) iust before the Flood! In the nroohecv of …t…J.. 2!1 ~ •• ,..,.~ .••..I ..!…”. :::f
Genesis 3: 15, it was revealed that all human hope was to center ill a Corning One. It
made known that the Coming One should be man, the woman’s “seed,’ and therefore of
supernatural birth. It announced that He would be the object of Satan’s enmity. It foretold
that He should be temporarily humiliated – bruised in His heel. It also proclaimed His
ultimate victory!’ for He should bruise the serpent’s head, and therefore must be more than
man. It intimated the age-long strife there would be between the two seeds: the children
of the Devil and those united unto Christ.
And the Lord said unto Cain, “What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood
crieth unto Me from the ground” (Gen. 4:10).
That is the first tune that all-important word “blood” is mentioned in the Scriptures, and
like all the initial occurrences of fundamental terms it well re- pays the most careful
attention and meditation, Profoundly important is this reference, foreshadowing as it does
some of the most essential and outstanding features of the atonement of Christ,
Abel was a shepherd (Gen ..4:2) and was hated, though without cause, by his brother (I
John 3: 12). He did not die a natural death, but met with a violent end: as the good
Shepherd “vas crucified and slain by wicked hands (/\.cts 2:23). In the light of those facts,
how deeply significant are the words “thevoice of thy brother’s blood crieth tIDtoi\1e.tt
That is the all-important hut inexpressibly blessed thing in connection with the blood of
Christ: it is vocal Godwardsl It is “the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than
that of Abel” (Heb. 12:24), for it satisfied every demand of God and procured inestimable
blessing for His people ~
The next mention of “blood” is in Genesis 9:4, where we learn that life is in the blood.
TIle third reference is Exodus 12: 13}where it delivers from the avenging angeL Put the
three together and we have a complete outline of all the subsequent teaching of Scripture
upon u1C blood+ They treat, respectively, of death, life, salvation”,
The law of first-mention opens up Scripture in a wayGod has not treasured up in any of His other
principles of Biblical interpretation. Scripture passages that are otherwise unknown to the Bible
student, present Biblical truths of utter beauty and serve as a basis to open up other passages in
Scripture.
Calvin comments:
This Law of first mention tells us that God did a very important thing after Adam fell into sin
HE MADE THEM CLOTHINGS OF SKIN
THESE CLOTHES OR GARMENTS ARE A TYPE
A TYPE OF “THE RIGHEOUSNESS OF CHRIST”
VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT
AS NO ONE CAN GO TO HEAVEN UNLESS HE PUTS ON THE GARMENT WHICH IS “THE RIGHTEOUSNESS” OF JESUS CHRIST
WE ARE SAVED NOT BY GOOD WORKS (WILL BE REJECTED BY GOS)
WE ARE SAVED BECAUSE OF WHAT JESUS CHRIST HAS “DONE” FOR US
2 Corinthians 5:21
King James Version
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Once a farmer had an orphan lamb because his mother sheep has died. And it happened that another sheep got a new born lamb that died
So the farmer wanted to let the orphaned lamb to take milk from the sheep whose lamb has died
But she refused to let him suck. The farmer knows that lamb will surely die unless he gets his milk
So he thought of an idea
He took the skin of the lamb that died and put it as a covering over the lamb
The mother sheep now smelled the smell of her dead baby lamb accepted the ophaned lamb
And he lived
SO WE ARE ONLY ACCEPTED BY ALMIGHTY GOD BECAUSE HE ACCEPTS US THROUGH HIS SON WHOSE GARMENTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WE ARE WEARING
All Glory Be To Jesus Christ
Amen! and Amen!
Psalm 45:8 KJV
All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, Out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

There were 3 Very Moving Hymns that melt our hearts & brought tears to our eyes: When I Survey The Wondrous Cross, Alas and Did My Saviour Bleed & today we will share on
“THERE IS A FOUNTAIN FILLED WITH BLOOD” By William Cowper
This was the Great Theme Song of the IRISH REVIVAL Of 1859 when the Holy Spirit Swept hundred thousands Souls into His Glorious Kingdom
There is a fountain filled with blood,
Drawn from Immanuel’s veins,
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains:
The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in His day;
And there have I, though vile as he,
Washed all my sins away:
Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its pow’r,
Till all the ransomed church of God
Are safe, to sin no more:
E’er since by faith I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die:
When this poor, lisping, stamm’ring tongue
Lies silent in the grave,
Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I’ll sing Thy pow’r to save
6. LORD I believe Thou hast prepared
Unworthy though I be
For me a Blood-bought free reward
A golden harp for me
7. Tis Strung & tuned for endless years
And formed by power divine
To sound in God the Father’s ears
No other Name but Thine.
Chorus:
I do believe I will believe that Jesus died for me
That on the Cross He shed His Blood
From sin to set me free.
“In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.” (Zechariah 13:1)
The Doctrine of Blood Atonement for sin started in the Garden of Eden when God killed an animal to use the Coat of skins as covering for Adam & Eve
And that Lamb was a Type of Jesus being our Sacrificial Lamb
God in His infinite Grace Has Ordained Jesus to Shed His Precious Blood to Wash Away all the Trillion & Zillion Sins of Mankind in His Most Holy & Precious Blood on the Cross of Calvary
Read again God’s precious Promise
“In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.” (Zechariah 13:1)
There is a fountain filled with blood,
Drawn from Immanuel’s veins,
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains:
The fountain filled with Blood was drawn from Immanuel’s veins
“Immanuel” is a compound of Two Words ImMANuel with the word “MAN”
So Jesus was incarnated to be MAN the VERY MAN
ImmanuEL has the word “EL” which stands for GOD
So Jesus is GOD the VERY GOD
No other one like Jesus Christ born pure without sin by Virgin Birth
Being sinless & pure Jesus Christ was offered as A Sin Sacrifice for All Mankind
AND SIMNNERS PLUNGED BENEATH THAT FLOOD LOSE ALL THEIR GUILTY SINS
AMEN!
The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in His day;
And there have I, though vile as he,
Washed all my sins away:
Through all ancient times Men have put their hands on Lambs head as a type of their sins being passover till the Actual Crucifixion of Christ
And here we read
The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in His day;
Amazing condescension! Jesus was crucified between two thieves. And by the grace of God one thief repented & believed
He saw that Fountain in his day!
There was a day, time & place when Jesus was crucified for our sins.
And that place was and is Calvary two thousand years ago
And there may I though while as he, washed all my sins away.
Yes Christian Faith rest on the history fact that Jesus died & paid for all our sins once for all on Calvary’s Cross more than 2,000 years
And THERE may I. Yes go THERE! Go to CALVARY By FAITH!
Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its pow’r,
Till all the ransomed church of God
Are safe, to sin no more:
So salvation is a fact of history. And it is a PERSONAL EXPERIENCE : And there MAY I
Once a person is genuinely saved he has a compelling love to win all others
See
Till all the ransomed church of God
Are safe, to sin no more:
Till ALL the Ransomed Church of God
Yes We Want ALL: ALL THE PEOPLE ON EARTH TO KNOW THIS WONDERFUL REDEEMING SAVIOUR!
ALL ARE SAVED TO SIN NO MORE!
AMEN!
Salvation is the most Precious Experience in this Life
E’er since by faith I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die:
The Prince of Preacher: Charles Haddon Spurgeon has these two Stanzas inscribed on his Tombstome
E’er since by faith I saw the stream Thy flowing wounds supply, Redeeming love has been my theme, And shall be till I die:
When this poor, lisping, stamm’ring tongue Lies silent in the grave, Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I’ll sing Thy pow’r to save
Charles Spurgeon was one of the most prominent preachers and powerful heralds of the Christian Gospel in the history of the Church. The account of Spurgeon’s own conversion is both fascinating and instructive.
From the time he was just a child Charles Spurgeon was heavily burdened by an awareness of his own sinfulness. Throughout several boyhood years he was constantly conscious that in both thoughts and actions he was unable to fulfill the requirements of God’s holy laws. Though he knew Christ had died for the sins of human beings, he saw no application of that truth to himself. He tried to pray, but the only complete request he could utter was, “God be merciful to me, a sinner!”
Though he had never uttered a blasphemy, all manner of cursing God and man began to fill his mind. Then followed severe temptations to deny the very existence of God as well as efforts to convince himself he was an atheist. When all such futile thinking failed, he told himself that he must feel or do something to merit salvation. He wished he might have his back scourged or that he could undergo some difficult pilgrimage to that end.
In 1849, at age fifteen, he entered a school in the town of Newmarket in Essex County, England, as both a student and a part-time teacher. In Newmarket he attended services at one church after another, hoping he might hear something that would help remove his spiritual burden. He later related that, while he heard pastors preach on a variety of themes, they did not address his basic spiritual question and need. “What I wanted to know was, ‘How can I get my sins forgiven?’, and they never told me that.”
That December an outbreak of fever temporarily closed the Newmarket school, and Spurgeon returned home to Colchester for the Christmas season. One Sunday morning early in January he was making his way to one church when a fierce snow storm led him, instead, to enter the Primitive Methodist Chapel located closer to his home. Only about a dozen people were there that morning, and he took a seat near the back, under the gallery.
The regular minister had not been able to make it due to the storm. So when it was time for the sermon a thin man whom Spurgeon supposed to be a shoemaker or a tailor went up to the pulpit. He announced and read the Scripture text for his impromptu sermon, Isaiah 45:22: “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth.” The man obviously had little formal education, and he mispronounced some of his words. But that did not matter to Spurgeon, for upon hearing the Bible verse he thought it contained a glimmer of hope for him.
The lay preacher began to deliver a homespun discourse in his broad Essex dialect: “This is a very simple text indeed. It says, ‘Look.’ Now lookin’ don’t take a deal of pain. It ain’t liftin’ your foot or your finger; it is just ‘Look.’ Well, a man needn’t go to college to learn to look. You may be the biggest fool, and yet you can look. A man needn’t be worth a thousand pounds a year to look. Anyone can look; even a child can look.
“But then the text says, ‘Look unto Me.’ Ay! many on ye are lookin’ to yourselves, but it’s no use lookin’ there. You’ll never find any comfort in yourselves. Some say look to God the Father. No, look to Him by-and-by. Jesus Christ says, “Look unto Me.” Some on ye say, “We must wait for the Spirit’s workin.” You have no business with that just now. Look to Christ. The text says, ‘Look unto Me.’ ”
Charles Spurgeon preaching as a young man
Assuming the perspective of Jesus, the preacher continued: “Look unto Me; I am sweatin’ great drops of blood. Look unto Me; I am hangin’ on the cross. Look unto Me, I am dead and buried. Look unto Me; I rise again. Look unto Me; I ascend to Heaven. Look unto Me; I am sitting at the Father’s right hand. O poor sinner, look unto Me! Look unto Me!”
After he had spoken for about ten minutes, the layman apparently reached the end of his tether. Then, fixing his eyes on Spurgeon, he startled him by saying, “Young man, you look very miserable. And you will always be miserable—miserable in life and miserable in death—if you don’t obey my text. But if you obey now, this moment, you will be saved.” Then raising his hands, he literally shouted: “Young man, look to Jesus Christ. Look! Look! Look! You have nothing to do but look and live!”
Far from taking offense at being singled out, Spurgeon at once saw the way of salvation. He hardly noticed anything the lay exhorter said after that, so taken was he with that one thought: “I had been waiting to do fifty things, but when I heard that word—‘Look!’—what a charming word it seemed to me. … There and then the cloud was gone, the darkness had rolled away, and that moment I saw the sun. And I could have risen that instant, and sung with the most enthusiastic of them, of the precious blood of Christ, and the simple faith which looks alone to Him. Oh, that somebody had told me this before, ‘Trust Christ, and you shall be saved.’ ”
When Spurgeon arrived back home early that afternoon, his family immediately noticed the dramatic change that had come over him. His despair was gone, and he was overflowing with joy. “Something wonderful has happened to you!” they exclaimed. And he was only too eager to tell them all about it. “Oh! there was joy in the household that day,” he afterward reported, “when all heard that the eldest son had found the Savior and knew himself to be forgiven.”
6. LORD I believe Thou hast prepared
Unworthy though I be
For me a Blood-bought free reward
A golden harp for me
7. Tis Strung & tuned for endless years
And formed by power divine
To sound in God the Father’s ears
No other Name but Thine.
Spurgeon said God would have taken us all to heaven the moment we got saved but God is leaving us here to perfect & tune our lives by testing and tuning on earth
Eventually we will all be molded and ready for His Heavenly Home
The harp is the equivalent to the modern day piano
And we shall Sound for All Eternity to All Eternity the Precious Lamb of God slain before the foundation of the world
King James Bible (revelation 13:8)
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Amen & Amen!

Comments Off on “THERE IS A FOUNTAIN FILLED WITH BLOOD DRAWN FROM IMMANUEL’S VIENS, (Revival Hymn of 1859 Irish Revival)
In year 1981 we responded to an urgent call to serve in KL JSM. Next year a very unusual and unforgettable incident happened
It was sometime in Mid 1982 when I was about to get married.
At this time there was trouble in SOM (School of Mission) , Singapore. A student by the name of Joanna was under possession but supposedly delivered. She together with two SOMers brothers Joshua Yeem & Yee Bee Chong came to KL JSM for refuge.
On a Friday Over Night Prayer Meeting in KL my fiancee (now my wife) felt giddy at about 1.30am. So I fetched her to my parent’s home about 10 minutes drive away.
On returning to the Mission just as a I drove past the Caltex Petrol Station along Pudu Road before turning to the KL Jesus Saves Mission I felt the hairs of my arms bristled and stood stiff. It has never happened in my life before and I thought it rather strange
On joining the All Night Prayer Meeting again I was waiting to close the Meeting in prayer. Note: By year 1982 the KL Friday Night Prayer lasts from 10pm Friday to Saturday 2am (not 4am)
Just as I was about to close in prayer at 2am I suddenly felt very very drowsy. The next thing was
“THUMP!” A LOUD BANG! AS IF A HUGE OBJECT HAD HIT THE FLOOR (the Mission was located on the 1st floor of the rented Corner Shophouse.
I got jolted up and fully awake!
It was Joanna who fell and hit the floor with huge force!
And then from Miss Joanna came out this male Voice, “HAHAHA! DESTROY! DESTROY!! HAHAHA!!! DESTROY!! DESTROY!!” It was a strong masculine voice with Very Menacing Tone!
“HAHAHA! DESTROY! DESTROY!! AND GETS LOUDER IN THE WEE HOURS OF THE NIGHT! HAHAHA! DESTROY! DESTROY!!
I was totally frozen with fright. As if ten thousand icy needles piercing right into my body and right into my very soul.
The hairs on my body bristled with a cold shattering fear. I cannot describe the terror hearing & seeing Demonic Possession for the very 1st time.
As I stood there helpless and frozen; suddenly a still small voice spoke inside, “for god hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”
it vibrated outward “God hath not given us the Sprit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”
And it turned warm and then hot “For God hath not given us the Spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”
And as it radiates out like a nuclear explosion of GREAT POWER
“FOR GOD HATH NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR; BUT OF POWER, AND OF LOVE, AND OF A SOUND MIND!
THE SEARING HOT VOICE OF GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT THROUGH THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT SAID AGAIN THROUGH MY LIPS THEN
“FOR GOD HATH NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR; BUT OF POWER!!, AND OF LOVE!!, AND OF A SOUND MIND!!!” (By now the spirit of fear totally wiped out by the searing hot power of God’s Mighty Word & PRESENCE!! Amen & Amen!
OMNIPOTENT GOD IS HERE!
THE OMNIPOTENT OF GOD – “BUT OF POWER”
THE OMNI-PRESENCE OF GOD – “AND OF LOVE!”
THE OMNISCIENT OF GOD – “AND OF A SOUND MIND”
Ye have an UNCTION of the Holy One and Knoweth all things”
“OVERWHELMING PRESENCE OF GOD’S SHEKINAH GLORY OVERCAME ALL OVER POWERING FRIGHT
“ GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU, THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD!”
Above KL JSM Members (Circa 1980s)
From that Friday night most members faithfully attend the Wednesday Mid Week Prayer Meeting
Total combined with English & Chinese were a small group of 30 members
Someone asked,
“How many members are there in your Mission?”
We replied, “About 30 members”
And how many attend the Mid Week Church Prayer Meeting?
Again we replied, “About 30 members”
Looking back we have attended Churches with over 1,000 members on Sunday but during the Mid Week Prayer Meetings only less than 100 members (less than 10% turn up for prayer.
KL JSM with its Mid Week Prayer Meetings, Friday Over Night Prayer Meeting & the many nights of prayer on Gasing Ridge will always be remembered. For ever and for ever as time spent in the Very Presence of God is never wasted
Below is a photo of Gasing Ridge Friday Night Prayer
Oh the pure delight of a single hour;
That before Thy Throne I spent.
When I kneel in Prayer
And with Thee My God
I Commune as friend with Friend.
(Note: Spore is Mt Faber & Penang was Bukit Dumbar Friday Nights Prayer)
Note: There was a story of a fisherman having caught live fishes from the Ocean and transport them in Tanks back to shore.
But the fishes were dull and inactive staying put at the bottom of the Tank. Then the fisherman got an idea.
He put some catfishes in the Tank. As the catfishes got poison stings all those tepid fishes started to move away to avoid those catfishes.
By this the Fisherman kept those fishes active & lively.
So God allows trials in our lives to keep us all alert & watchful. Less we are lulled to sleep and backslide away from Him.
Comments Off on KL JSM (Circa 1982) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind ( 2 Timothy1:7)
We fast forward to year 1979 (Please bear with us more updates on BHS Jsm circa 77/78 later)
It was in year 1977 when Brother Amos invited us to preach in Muka Head Camp, Penang
Two messages came to mind
7 Reasons why we should read the Bible
7 Reasons why we should give ourselves to serve God in Full Time Service
Both Brother Amos (Lucky) Depasquale & his dear wife Helen consecrated themselves to serve God in that Camp
See
On the right is Brother Amos
Sitting front 3rd from left is Mrs Helen Despasquale
It was brother Amos who asked us to go serve in Penang Rifle Range JSM (Soon after we arrived in Penang circa 1979 Brother Amos & Family resigned from the Butterworth Australian Air Force and returned to Australia. He was pastoring in the ministry for some time
Now Penang is totally given to idolatry and a strong hold of Satan
This is the Testimoney of Missioner Koay Gaik Kee
Ms Koay said Penang Island has the shape of a tortoise.
See Tanjong Bungah JSM Circa 1970 to 1980s
Sitting 4th from front right is Missioner Koay Gaik Kee
And this is her Story
When JSM started its Work in Tanjung Bungah there was an abandoned 3 room Bungalow Villa going for rent at the sum of Rm55 (yes only fifty five ringgit) as no body want to rent it. No body even dare to stay in it even if it’s free as it was a haunted place
Ms Koay said the 1st Night she stayed in that Haunted House She had to fight of the unclean evil spirits valiantly as a good soldier of Jesus Christ
Finally the evil spirits all left when Jesus Christ enters. Amen!
In Rifle Range where i stayed for two full years was a different story then
Every night was a battle just to get some good sleep
Because many a night evil spirits will disturb.
One night the piano downstairs (I slept upstair) would play on its own in the wee hours
One night a cat entered my room & with blood shot eyes looked at me.
“I bind you evil spirits in the name of Jesus!” and that black cat fled
I thought it very strange so I asked a convert called brother Bee Chong
He said evil spirits would turn his body upside down when he slept at night
Appalled I went to talk to people outside the Mission Church
At Gurney Drive I met a Malay man. Asked him if he slept well?
He said no in Malay “Banyak kacau” translated “very disturbing”.
Even in Noordin Street JSM there were disturbances
But not in Tanjung Bungah JSM
In this Villa there are 3 rooms
One on each side left & right. In the center a little woonden stair leads to the Sole Upstair Room where Rev Stephen Koe was the resident Pastor
So i used to visit him from time to time and slept very peacefully in that “Cleansed” Villa
Many years later after we resigned from JSM we visited Penang as Tourists: Stayed in YMCA, Several Hotels in George Town also the Penang Hill Hotel
Slept very peacefully
I think then I was in Full Time Service (Military) and a threat to the devil. Now I am a civilian (no threat to him maybe)
But that is not the end of the Story
A greater battle awaits in next Post:
Satanic Power by Demonic Possession in KL JSM (Circa 1981 to 1988)
To be continued

We covet earnest prayers from all who visit

On the right is Bro Elisha Yee Bee Chong, one of our earliest 1st convert
Where are you now Brother Yee Bee Chong?
Please keep in touch
Note: This world is not a play ground but a battle ground.
Comments Off on 1979 to 1981 March Penang Rifle Range JSM : Missioner Koay’s Testimony of her fierce battle against the Powers of Darkness
We have been hindered much from posting this. At long last the good Lord permits us to post
In year 1976 Missionary Pastor Dr. John Mincy left BHS JSM
Then Rev Dr Ng suggested we go serve in BHS JSM for year 1977 & then 1978
These two years were years of battles against the powers of darkness
Here let us quote verbatim from our 1978 Diary
The year begins with Brother Lucky Amos Despasquale speaking in Craig Road JSM year 1978 Sunday January 1st
(afternoon we attended the BHS worship)
The entry in our Diary on that day
Christ the Son of God has sent me
Thru’ the mid-night lands
Mine the mighty Ordination
Of the pierced hands
The reality of God’s Presence was so real in Craig Road’s Worship Service that tears streamed down my cheeks this morning.
Brother Lucky preached from his heart.
Above was morning Worship in Craig Road Jsm entry
Now see afternoon entry Bhs Jsm (4pm Worship time)
There was a hindrance at the BHS Worship Service this afternoon. The message went through with considerable power. Went for dinner with brother Lucky and Paul Chiew
Year of 1977 in BHS Jsm started with 4 Brothers in the 1st Men Fellowship. All through year 1977 we had a blessed time of Worship, Doctrinal Class, Student’s Club, Bible Study & Prayer Meetings
By Year end we had the BLESSED REVIVAL CAMP ON PENANG HILL where more than 30 Young Men & Young Women were called to Full Time Service
After the Revival Camp Bro Lucky (Amos) said we should go to the Mission Stations to do Evangelism Work
Only God knows much later BHS Jsm will be the chosen Mission to hold that 1978 Evangelistic Campaign
But not so easy
THERE WAS OPPOSITION FROM THE POWERS OF DARKNESS
See next entry in our 1978 Diary (Journal) dated 2nd January 1978
We quote verbatim
Brother Lucky spoke to J.K. AND Karen this morning.
Announced the conflict in the Mission. Sister B. broke down and wept. Had a talk with her.
Above tells us there was conflict ongoing then
Now see this entry below
“Was oppressed by evil spirits to-night. Heard a whole gang downstairs. Rebuked them sharply in Jesus Name.
We wept when brother Lucky depart for Penang.
What actually happened in BHS JSM on that night in January 2nd 1978?
BHS JSM was a Corner HDB Shophouse with 2 Storey. Ground Floor is used as a Kindergarten in the Week Days. Children Used Those Benches as Desk for their Study. These same Benches are Used as Church Pews for Church Services during the Weekends. On Saturday there is a lively, vibrant Student’s Club & on Sunday a hive of activities : Soul Winning at 12 noon. Adult Bible Study Class at 3pm & Sunday Afternoon Worship at 4pm.
Upstairs is a Hall with 2 Rooms
I used to sleep upstair in the Hall
This particular night of nights I heard a whole gang of evil spirits “DRUMMING” the Benches downstairs.
The noise gets louder and Louder and LOUDER until it was unbearable so I got up
and said, “I COMMAND YOU EVIL SPIRITS TO LEAVE IN THE NAME OF JESUS!!!”
At that the whole place fell silence.
That was the beginning of a battle.
“The powers of darkness fiercely oppose;
When slaves from their bonds we free.
Our path may beset with desperate foes;
But none of these things move me”
By The Marecale (daughter of William Booth
To be continued…
Brethren & whoever reading this we covet your fervent earnest prayers
TYVM in Jesus’ Name
Amen
To be continued…..
Comments Off on THE CALL TO SERVE IN BHS JSM (Circa 1977 & 1978) Reminisces of God’s Power over Satan
This month has been another Most Blessed Month of my Pilgrim Journey
Out of the blue we received a whataspp call to reconnect with long lost friends
It reminded me of a passage in Acts 28:14b -15
so we went toward Rome.
15 And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.
What happened then?
Paul after appealing to Ceaser was on his final Journey to Rome after traveling through dangers of shipwreck, snake bite & many other dangers
As Paul reached Rome he passed through a place called Appii Forum where there were 3 Taverns (Inns)
Here he met converted Jews which came to meet him
And “HE TOOK COURAGE”
Paul needed that final booster to face his final battle yet ahead which concludes Acts 28 but not the end as The Acts of the Holy Spirit through Aposle Paul continues on today
How we thank God
In the 4th Stanza of LIFE’S DESIRE IT SAYS
“Though weak and weary I fight on;
Till some from this wide world I’ve won.
Averting men from God’s great wrath;
And turn them to the heavenly path.”
For many years we use to read Psalm, Proverbs & the Book of Acts everyday
Psalm is for the heart
Written by King David a man of God’s own heart
Proverbs written by King Solomon
The wisest man on earth
ACTS OF THE APOSTLES
By Luke about the Zeal & Fire of the Holy Spirit operating through the Church
Very often after 40 years reading Acts’ “APPII FORUM & THE THREE TAVERNS” we wondered why God mentioned that?
Now i know
In years 2020 to 2022 these 3 “Locked in Years” due to Coronavirus God reconnected us to 3 Groups of Very dear Christian Friends

A VERY BIG AND VERY WARM WELCOME AWAITS ALL
God really worked in Mysterious ways
As William Cowper wrote
God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform; He plants His footsteps in the sea And rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathomable mines Of never failing skill He treasures up His bright designs And works His sov’reign will.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take; The clouds ye so much dread Are big with mercy and shall break In blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, But trust Him for His grace; Behind a frowning providence He hides a smiling face.
His purposes will ripen fast, Unfolding every hour; The bud may have a bitter taste, But sweet will be the flow’r.
Blind unbelief is sure to err And scan His work in vain; God is His own interpreter, And He will make it plain.
Amen! & Amen!
Calvin Tan

The Bible Says
“THEY THAT FEARED THE LORD SPAKE OFTEN ONE TO ANOTHER”
Malachi 3:16
“Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.”
