Dear Praying Friends,
And here are the extracts (excerpts) from 1979 Diary as they were written
Excerpts from SOM CLUB 60 Whataspp
above is the 1979 diary i was reading this morning
ok if you guys don’t mind the bad handwritings
these are the entries of that St John Island Camp (in Singapore)
starts on Dec 3, 1979
DECEMBER 3 to 8 1979 JSM ANNUAL WORKERS’ CONFERENCE
Entry for 3 December, 1979
Left for St John island on Dec 3
quite a large group of conferees turned up
wrote a letter of confession to pastor Peter Ng in USA
after that the liberty of God rushed into my soul
joined bro James Tan and bro Tuck Keong in prayer till 2am
Awakened this morning & before message spoke to Sister Rhoda
Spoke on “Fellowship with God”
The Lord gave remarkable unction
A number of people broke down in confession of sins. There were tears
and contrition.
God moved very gently in each heart.
During tonight prayer God told me to help strengthen Isaiah by talking to him
but I did not.
There was very little unction in the message called “The causes of disunity”
in tomorrow’s message.
How I must walk carefully in increasing light.
Whataspp comment from bro Daniel Tan Jee Huay
“Amazing. They are histories in them”
Calvin replied
“yes bro Jee Huay
I disobeyed then and lost the power”
{Please note: these were whataspp conversations in posted in SOM CLUB 60 last year July 2022)
Saw the film
Centerville Awakening
It has great impact upon us
Called Rifle Range young people to pray with the Craig Road sisters
Several broke down under the power of God
Spoke on the “Causes of Disunity” with little power.
Tonight spent more time in confession and heart searching
Also spoke to bro Isaiah.
It was a time of deeper repentance
The people now separated for prayer outside the Mission (Meeting Hall)
Joined the young people in prayer.
Going round all the groups
It was such a blessing
Wonderful art Thou! oh Lord
ok next one got bro Jee Huay
Spoke on “A living Sacrifice” with considerable power.
Many left this afternoon by ferry to the mainland
Had a walk and talked with bro Jee Huay
(what did we talked??)
Tonight the R(ifle) R(ange) people stayed up until 2am in prayer
They testified later of confession and blessings
Slept early due to bodily tiredness
{Hope you all not tired out}
December 7, 1979
Spoke on “Oneness in Christ” with a slight liberty
After the message appealed to the people
It was a slight challenge to get right with God
Had a day of prayer and fasting
It was a bit taxing on the body
Slept in the afternoon- due to tiredness.
At this time the LORD moved mightily
upon the people praying in the lecture room
Felt more liberty towards the evening
with clear vision and a better frame of mind
Spoke on “God’s faithful remnant” on Gideon’s army
with quite great liberty
4 people responded to full time calling
A number of SOMers stayed back in the
after meeting for confession and dedication.
Brother Jee Huay interjected
“sorry Eng Yee, I have no recollection of this even at (St John’s Island) even it’s quite obvious i was there
“And what we talk about? No clue”
Truely the LORD was with us in power
Broke fast at about 10pm
Joined in a wonderful time of all
nite prayer meeting
The great peace of God flooded my soul
I can’t refrain from praising and adoration
Truly He is worthy of all glory,
power and honor and majesty
Amen and Amen
Praise the LORD!!!
A thousand thanks for His wonderful grace in saving and using a wretched soul like me
Calvin further comment:
That was in year 1979, more than 43 years ago. Our hearts felt strangely warm and once again fire came into our souls
40 years seem to be a short time as the Work of God is eternal and will last on till eternity to eternity
Now who were the 4 consecrators. The diary did not record their names. But from distant memory we could recall two from the photos
- Sis Yee Cheng Sim (KL JSM)
- Sis Tan Suan Ho (Penang JSM)
3 and 4 were who???
Above two consecrators in that 1979 Camp
Sitting 2nd Row at number 5 from right is Sister Yee Cheng Sim (Where are you now sister?)
For Sister Tan Suan Ho please look at very last row standing from left number four is bro Elisha Yee Bee Chong
And right in front of Bee Chong (Half hidden view) is Sis Tan Suan Ho (Where are you now?)
And this was the consecration song of the Camp on that most blessed and MEMORABLE TIME OF HIS VISITATION
IS YOUR ALL ON THE ALTAR OF SACRIFICE LAID?
1 You have longed for sweet peace,
And for faith to increase,
And have earnestly, fervently prayed.
But you cannot have rest,
Or be perfectly blest,
Until all on the altar is laid.
Refrain:
Is your all on the altar of sacrifice laid?
Your heart does the Spirit control?
You can only be blest,
And have peace and sweet rest,
As you yield Him your body and soul.
2 Would you walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
And have peace and contentment alway?
You must do His sweet will
To be free from all ill–
On the altar your all you must lay. [Refrain]
3 Oh, we never can know
What the Lord will bestow
Of the blessings for which we have prayed,
Till our body and soul
He doth fully control,
And our all on the altar is laid. [Refrain]
4 Who can tell all the love
He will send from above,
And how happy our hearts will be made,
Of the fellowship sweet
We shall share at His feet
When our all on the altar is laid! [Refrain]
In that Glorious Camp
we changed the word “you” to a more personal application
it goes like this
Is MY all on the altar of sacrifice laid?
MY heart does the Spirit control?
I can only be blest,
And have peace and sweet rest,
As I yield Him my body and soul.
AMEN & AMEN
ALL GLORY BE TO JESUS CHRIST!
