Dear Praying Friends,
Today swiftly 43 years have passed since that memorial week of Evangelistic Campaign held in BHS JSM, Singapore
And let us refresh our memory again
See the record from diary of September 1978
September 8th 1978 (FRIDAY)
Tonight brother Matthew spoke a Hokkien message on HEAVEN AND HELL. Again felt the power of God in the Meeting. There was a better response tonight to the message.
There was a glorious liberty of prayer at Mt. Faber to-night.
WE STORMED THE THRONE OF GRACE & CLAIMED PSALM 2:8 AGAIN. The Meeting seem to be terminated in a very short time. When we are truly in GOD’S PRESENCE we are unconscious of time. To GOD time is not applicable, for He is Eternal.
Note: Every Friday JSM conducts An All Night Prayer Meeting on Mt. Faber lasting from 10 pm to 4 am – a 6th hour long Marathon Prayer. There’s where we get our power from God. Prayer Meetings are power meetings. A prayerful christian is a powerful christian and a prayerless christian is a powerless christian. Same goes for preachers and Churches. However, the prayers at Mt. Faber have ceased.
SEPTEMBER 9th 1978 (Final Day of Campaign; Saturday)
Awakened this morning in the Mission. Was alone by myself because the students went for outing. To-night the whole Mission was packed with saints and sinners. The stairs were filled. Many others stayed outside the Mission to hear the Messages. On the last minute chaired the Meeting in the place of James Foo. Felt a little liberty as we sang, “IN TIMES LIKE THESE”. Sister Lai Siong gave her testimony. The Choir sang “SPRINGS OF LIVING WATER “. Brother Bee Hin spoke on “IS THIS THE LAST GENERATION?” Felt the chill of deep conviction in the message. Many souls were saved to-night.
The eight nights of Evangelistic Campaign closed with a glorious power of God’s Presence in the midst of His Children. Amen & Amen.
.Note: Brother Bee Hin went on to become one of the Highest Ranking Officer in the Singapore Military – COL(RET) Png Bee Hin.
Note this
Brother Bee Hin spoke on “IS THIS THE LAST GENERATION?” Felt the chill of deep conviction in the message. Many souls were saved to-night.
That was September 9th, 1978
Preceding that was the Revival Year of 1977 on Penang Hill Workers Conference Camp
See the photo again
REVIVAL DAYS ARE GLAD DAYS. DAYS OF HEAVEN ON EARTH. 1977 PENANG HILL
Out of 30 members from BHS JSM about 15 responded to the Call of God for His Glorious Service
But the Revival was preceded even much earlier by days of prayer and fasting
Brother Lucky Fortunato Depasquale said, “Every revival could be traced back to a kneeling figure”
And it was Brother “Lucky” who said after the 1977 Penang Hill Revival that we should go to the Mission Churches to spread the Revival Flame by holding Evangelistic Services
Below is a photo of BHS Jsm ABC Class Members (Circa 1977/78)
In early years: The Doctrinal Class members later called “Adult Bible Class” of year 1977/8
The Core Faithful Members & Other Members Plus The BHS Student’s Club & also Members & Leaders from Other JSM Stations (The late Rev. Dr Peter Ng founding Pastor of JSM & Brother Png Bee Hin from PK JSM), (Rev. Dr. James Tan from Craig Road JSM) and Resident Chinese Missioner Rev Dr Matthew Khoo who preached 3 Messages in Mandarin, Hokkien & Cantonese) Plus the Choirs of all 3 Stations & all also helped out with the combined harvest of 68 souls
Glorious were those Days of His Visitations
And the Call to Soul Winning:
EVAGELLIZE! EVANGELIZE!
“Give us a watchword for the hour,
A thrilling word, a word of power;
A battle-cry, a flaming breath,
That calls to conquest or to death.
A word to rouse the church from rest,
To heed her Master’s high behest;
The call is given: Ye hosts arise,
Our watchword is Evangelize!
The glad evangel now proclaim,
Through all the earth, in Jesus’ name;
This word is ringing through the skies,
Evangelize! Evangelize!
To dying men, a fallen race,
Make known the gift of Gospel grace;
The world that now in darkness lies,
Evangelize! Evangelize! – Henry Crocker
Amen & Amen!
