There is a false assumption :- “I only believe in that which my eyes can see.” There are many things which we believe even though we cannot see. For example , oxygen: light a small candle fire, then cover it with an empty glass.
The fire will soon dies off when the oxygen in the glass is used up. Can we see oxygen? No. Does oxygen exists? Yes, definitely! So is the Holy Spirit, gravity, electricity, wind, thoughts, music, etc. et.
In his immortal poem on “SAINT PAUL”, Frederic W. H. Myers wrote:
Whoso has felt the Spirit of the Highest
Cannot confound nor doubt Him nor deny:
Yes, with one voice, O World, tho’ thou deniest,
Stand thou on that side, for on this am I.
“Certitude is a great thing. I am absolutely certain of the power of the Holy Spirit.”
By “The Marecale“, daughter of General William Booth.
The greek word “anggelos” translated as angel in the New Testament is also translanted as messenger. A true messanger like a true angel, living momoent by moment as if in the very presence of the living God. Therefore, he is fully conscious of the operative power of the Godhead thru’ the Holy Spirit.
Hear their testimonies:-
“As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand…(1 Kings 17:1) Prophet Elijah
“As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand…” {1 Kings 18:15) Prophet Elijah
“As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand…” {2 Kings 3:14} Prophet Elisha
“As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand…” {2 Kings 5:16) Prophet Elisha
Notice how close is the prophet Elisha’s relationship with the LORD? He did not even mention Israel or hosts (angels).
“And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to show thee glad tidings.(Luke 1:19).”
“I bless the Lord, I have nothing to do with earth, but to labour honestly in it for God… I think I do not desire to live one minute for any thing which earth could afford. Oh that I could live for none but God, till my dying moment!” Life & Diary of David Brainerd, letters.
“Heaven is, dear LORD,
Where ever You are.
For to me ’tis hell to be;
But one moment void of Thee.”
…..Evangelist George Whitefield
